Episode 7: Anne Roseveare

In our seventh and final podcast episode, we take a look back in time with Anne Roseveare BEng (Hons) DIS MISoilSci. Have a read of Anne’s bio below, or scroll all the way down to the bottom for the podcast!

Anne is the Operations Manager at Tiger Geo, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from Bradford University in 1997, and so has been working in the sector for 25 years. So we have a lot of history to cover in this pod episode!

Following graduation with an unconventional degree (in terms of the usual paths into geophysical prospection), Anne joined a small group who had recently completed the Archaeological Prospection masters course at Bradford to set up a small survey company in 1998. Anne’s company decided to specialise in Caesium Vapour gradiometers, rather than the traditional fluxgate magnetometer, with great support and research from fellow colleagues in Europe.

Anne has been involved with some founding projects and societies – she was a founding member of the Archaeological Society for Archaeological Prospection (ISAP – who sponsored this podcast), as well as starting up and being the founding editor for the ISAP news. Anne was also involved with starting up the CIfA Geophysics Special Interest Group (GeoSIG – who also sponsored this podcast), later co-opting as a committee member between 2013 and 2016. On top of this, Anne was also a founding member of the Interactions between Soil Science and Geophysics in Archaeological Prospection network (ISSGAP), which then developed into the COST Action SAGA, which you can hear more about in Kate’s podcast here:

Anne was also the Geophysics tutor for Birkbeck College University of London between 2006 and 2011, as well as delivering training as part of a long-term collaboration with the National Archaeological Museum in North Macedonia, a course supported by the COST Action Saga.

I think you’ll agree this is one chocka episode to get stuck into! Episode 7 is below, or you can find it on Spotify / Apple Podcasts / Acast etc etc. Enjoy! And thanks again 🙂

I hope you enjoy!

Thanks to all of you for tuning in and engaging with the project and podcasts – we’ve had a brilliant time doing it and sharing seven wonderful stories with you all. Thanks to Lisa and Brendon of DigVentures for the support and encouragement to take on this project in the first place. Thanks again to ISAP and CIfA for their grant funding, and of course to Guy at Bucket of Sound for making the finished products into what they are – what a genius. See you all soon!
